Birth is first and foremost a gift we give to our children. The chance to come into the world, onto this planet with dignity and a gentle transition is a priceless gift to our yet unborn. - Marcie Macair

What's in a name? =)

With the help of a dear friend I've made some changes...

Lullabies and Lilies as we are now called will soon be a non profit organization with goals to help and educate couples who would like to their labor and childbirth experiences to be as natural and intervention-free as possible. My goal as a doula is to support women and their husbands/partners during this life changing moment and helping their little one arrive into this world as gently as possible.

Looking for Couples due in mid June/beginning of July

In order to finish my Doula training I need to be present at 5 labors and deliveries. Previous ones I have attended do not count towards my class credit. I am currently looking for couples who are due in mid June/beginning of July who would be interested in having me as their Doula.

I will provide:
  • two prenatal sessions in your home so we can get to know each other and talk about your choices and desires
  • phone consultations
  • continuous labor and birth support at the hospital/birthing center/home
  • postpartum support to help with bonding, staff reminders regarding your baby and breastfeeding
  • photographs of your labor/delivery/family & newborn immediately after birth (if desired)
  • at least one postpartum home visit

Please email me if you are interested!

The Birth of Lullabies and Lilies

“Birth”, as the word suggests, means the bestowing of some form of life by the nature, to this world. Being born is the purest virtues that can be held by a living being as after that one is exposed to life, where one can breathe, feel, have emotions, i.e. it’s in this world that these one is exposed to all such virtues. This is a state in which we consider the achievement of a new form of life. Birth should not always be linked to the birth of child, but it can also be the achievement of a new life, a new ray of hope, fresh ideas, etc.
The knowledge of how to give birth without outside interventions lies deep within each woman. Successful childbirth depends on an acceptance of the process.

And so it is... here is the birth of "Lullabies and Lilies" a place where I will do my best to share my thoughts and experiences as a Doula who is striving to grow and learn with each labor and birth I am given the honor to be present at.
